John Halinski is a retired Marine Corps veteran with over 25 years of service to his country and was deeply involved in counterterrorism, counter-drugs and security operations. He has spent over a decade working for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) where he directed many incident responses to major and minor security situations nationally and abroad. At this time John is President of Raloid Corp, a metal manufacturing company that provides materials for the Department of Defense, and a Partner at S&R Investments, a consulting firm that specializes in security and intelligence related matters.
Before joining the military in 1979 John Halinski attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History. John received extensive training over the course of his military service and became specialized in intelligence, infantry and counterterrorism. John attended the National Intelligence University from 1986 to 1987 and obtained his Master of Science degree in Strategic Intelligence and International Affairs. In addition to his prestigious degrees John Halinski has graduated from the TSA’s Senior Leadership Development Program and earned a certificate in Organizational Leadership from the Federal Executive Institute. John serves on the board of advisors at Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies and Marymount University’s Intelligence Studies program. He is a Senior Fellow for Homeland Security and Emerging Threats at George Washington University.
After his military retirement John Halinski wanted to continue the important work he had been deeply involved in during his time in the Marine Corps. John accepted a position as TSA Representative to Africa and Italy one month after leaving the Corps in 2004. Over the 10 year span of his career he was crucial in the design and implementation of the TSA’s response to security incidents across the globe. All TSA operations and administrative activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East were directed by John from 2008-2012. Through his use of outreach and engagement John successfully enhanced the international transportation security and advanced strategies that served to protect against unlawful interference against civil aviation. During the evacuation of Americans from Lebanon John acted as the TSA’s Representative and ensured a smooth operation was conducted. After the Haitian earthquake crisis in 2010 Halinski directed the TSA’s response and helped rebuild their transportation security infrastructure.
In his spare time John frequently appears as a guest speaker and expert commentator on a variety of media stations including NBC, CBC, CNN, and MSNBC. John has written numerous articles regarding security and counterterrorism and is published in various noteworthy journals.
